- Digital Voice Recorder - You always think you'll remember what happened when on your hike or camping trip, then you get home and the memory has faded or left. Record the sound of birds chirping outside your camp side or just the sound of wind from a hill top. You can also try to save up the directions back to your campsites and save them on this. It would defiantly better than taking out a paper and pen for this and of course not to forget these are lightweight and easy to carry around
- MP3 Player - Hikers used to use small, transistor radios to enjoy music while out on the trail, but there are plenty of places where the signal is either too weak to enjoy or completely non-existent. With an MP3 player you can not only enjoy music at any time during your hike or camping trip, but you have the added benefit of it always being the music YOU want to listen to while in the great outdoors. And, like the digital voice recorder, these players are extremely lightweight.
What kind of music is great for Backpacking ???
It actually depends a lot on the choice of the individual, our suggestion would be according to the kind of city you are traveling to or the kind of experience you are looking forward for.
- If in spiritual places like Rishikesh, Vrindavan or Mathura try a bit of spiritual/world fusion music composed by Krishna Das, Prem Joshua or Pt Ravi Shankar.
- If you are backpacking in the metropolitan cities like Delhi or Mumbai, Rock music or bollywood music can give your experience a whole new meaning. Infact if you are lucky enough then you might even end up at a rock show in the Rock Capital of India “DELHI”
- If in Rajasthan you should not miss out an opportunity to get a taste of the cultural music out there, it is simply majestic to hear the local folk music between the deserts at night.
