Hey guys!

My plan is to visit South India (the region of Kerala) in October and November of 2013. I'm planning to stay in ashrams for few weeks and after that I'd like to see some sights.

Since it's my first time in India I would really like to get some tips and tricks on how to find some trustworthy companions for my trip, where to stay and what to look out for.

Any suggestions?

I am planning to go on this trek. So if anyone can share information on the difficulty level of this trek, it would be great. I am an amateur at trekking and have only done the Dzongri trek in Sikkim. Compared to it, how difficult or easy will this trek be?
Also if someone can let me know the ease of booking porters and supplies at Gangotri. During the Dzongri trek, I managed to book porter, cook and supplies (food, sleeping bags, tent etc.) at the base, Yuksom. Is it a similar scenario here also?

And yes, I'm looking for people interested to join in.
