| I always wanted to feel the thrill of trekking and experience being footloose in the most famous mountain range of our country – the Himalayas. And once I got the chance, I just wanted to enjoy my each and every moment above anything else. It was a beautiful experience to soak in the surroundings and simply relax. Amidst all the new experiences, my 10-day tour flew away like wind!
Dodital, situated approximately 3025 meters above sea level towards the north of the Uttrakhand, is most visited for its fresh water and crystal clear lake. Tourists like to indulge in angling and fishing here mostly – being extremely famous for its trout and Mahaseer fishing. Due to the clarity of the lake, you can easily spot the trout. And if you are fond of trekking as well, then Dodital is a paradise for you!
Dodital is situated in the crest of the Himalayas and seems to be very mysterious, divine as well as beckoning. We stayed at Kali Kamli, which is a cheap place to stay in, and also is situated near Laxman Jhula. This well-known bridge added to the view and made our stay even more pleasurable. Our trek started at the Asi Ganga Sangam Chatti with a 15 km drive to the Sangam Chatti. From here starts the actual, 2-3 hour tough trek to the Agoda Village, through a well-cobbled path. Various ponies are also available if you get tired, but we preferred to walk. You can also explore some amazing trails around Agora.
Embarking on a trek gives you a new travelers’ life and Dodital is the best place to get a taste of an adventurous trek. It is an apt place for camping since the serene beauty of this place can compel any nature lover to camp over here. Enhancing the beauty of this place are surrounding lakes and the pine forest, the Darwa Bugyal, and a valley which is just as serene and enticing. I thoroughly enjoyed my trip and would suggest all nature lovers to experience Dodital for at least once in their lifetime. |
